UMMAH COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY GOMBE STATE 

ABOUT THE COLLEGE
The college is a community based health institution that came into being following series of deliberations by the community and other influential leaders. The college was established in 2016 and started operating in 2017.The College is currently situated at Markazu Science Secondary School GRA Gombe as its temporary site. 
The college was established in line with the guidelines stipulated by the relevant bodies and other professional bodies and agencies and councils regulating designated courses and programs, such as WAHEB, CHPRBN etc. 
For now, the courses offered in the college includes; Medical Laboratory Tech. (MLT), Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW), Environmental Health Tech. (EVT), Health Education & Promotion (HEP), and Health Information Management (HIM). 
The strength of the college is to provide competent, qualitative, conversant, versatile and middle level professionals in the health sector (institution) within the nation or country.

ESTABLISHMENT OF THE COLLEGE
The college was established by Kabiru Hassan who shall hereinafter be referred to as the “chief executive Director/Proprietor” together with Abdullahi Mohammed who shall be the “ Director.

GENERAL PHILOSOPHY
UMMAH COLLEGE will be an environment conducive for freedom of thoughts, expression of enquiry for all. To this end its doors will be open for all members of staff and students irrespective of creed, gender and belief.
It is believed that health science education plays a vital role in people’s health and forms bedrocks on which a lasting foundation for health care delivery can be achieved.
This is strengthened by the universal environmental health control as a major components of primary health care (PHC). We therefore are fully committed and encouraged to design a training programme that is based on scientific knowledge. Health education management skills, public health techniques and community health mobilization.
The philosophy is that students who will be trained in environmental health, community health, health Education & Promotion, medical laboratory and health information management or candidates who wish to continue in health line, on completion of the professional courses is equipped with the requisite technical skills to enable him/her marketable opportune for employment purposes in both public and private hospitals across the state or nation at large.
